John Smith, PAGB Chief Executive, said:
“Before the referendum, it was PAGB’s view that the UK should remain a part of the European Union, however we respect the decision the British people have made.
We will work closely with our member companies and regulators over the coming weeks, as the process and timescales for the exit negotiations become clearer, to assess the implications this decision will have for our industry.
We do not expect anything will happen quickly, it will take time to work out what the impact on regulation will be and it could be several years before the impact of any regulatory changes is felt.”
